IR/INFO 2016 Provides a Magical Time in Orlando

Jim Seffrin, Director of Infraspection Institute, states, “We were very pleased with this year’s IR/INFO conference. With 5 short courses and 23 technical presentations, this year’s conference covered a broad array of infrared applications, new equipment and technologies, home and building inspections, medical applications, and current legal issues. We thank our exhibitors, our speakers, and all who attended and helped to make this year’s conference one of our best ever.”

Co-sponsored by Temperatures.com, United Infrared, and Maintenance Technology magazine, this year’s conference also featured the latest in infrared imagers and software from several manufacturers. Sunday evening’s Welcome Reception and OscIR party provided an opportunity for attendees to reconnect with friends and colleagues and make new acquaintances.
Nine fishermen showed off their talent on Crescent Lake by pursuing trophy largemouth bass. High hook went to Jack Allinson and Jim Seffrin. In all, 58 fish were caught and quickly released in order to protect their privacy and prevent sunburn.
One of the most special moments of the conference was the return of longtime friend and fellow thermographer, David Gleaton. David is a Level III Infraspection Institute Certified Infrared Thermographer® and the founder of Carolina Infrared. He is also medically retired from Savannah River. Remediations in Aiken, SC. In 2013, David suffered a severe stroke that left him unable to move, speak, or swallow. Despite an initial grim prognosis, David has battled to regain full balance and is now able to walk and has most of the use of his right arm. David’s appearance at IR/INFO marked a milestone in his recovery as it was his first trip away from home without being accompanied by his wife or a family member. David’s family asks that you keep them in your prayers as he continues working to recover and regain his communication skills. As of this writing, David is already looking forward next year’s IR/INFO Conference.
First time attendee Art Jones had this to say about his initial IR/INFO experience: “Everyone from Infraspection and the attendees made me feel so welcome! Thank you for hosting such a special event.”

Return guest Ben Hixson, an Infraspection Institute Certified Infrared Thermographer, offered the following: “Excellent conference! Presentations were great and full of information that I can use to grow our business.”

John Cameron summed up his experience as follows: “This conference is a MUST for anyone involved in the infrared industry.”

Jim Seffrin concludes: “Plans for Infraspection’s next IR/INFO event are already well underway. IR/INFO 2017 will be held at the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort, in Orlando, FL January 22 – 25, 2017. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year for another fun-filled and informative event.”
