First Australia Level II Thermography Course a Success
Mitcham, Australia May 6, 2010 — IPI Infrared recently held the first Infraspection Institute Level II Certified Infrared Thermographer® training course in Mitcham, Victoria. A total of ten thermographers from Australia and New Zealand attended and achieved their Level II certification in quantitative infrared thermography. The course was taught by IPI Infrared’s Brenton Ward and Jim Seffrin, Director of Infraspection Institute. Both gentlemen are highly experienced, Level III professional thermographers.
Following the class, Mr. Ward had this to say: “We are thrilled with the opportunity to advance infrared training and certification in Australia. Our Level II Certified Infrared Thermographer® training course is a first for our region and an important step in the advancement of thermography.”
Level II Certified Infrared Thermographer® is a five-day course for the application of quantitative thermal imaging and temperature measurement for P/PM, Condition Monitoring, Quality Assurance and Forensic Investigations. This hands-on course covers advanced infrared theory, equipment calibration, error sources, cross-verification with contact thermometers, advanced equipment operation, use of windows and filters, assigning temperature limits and repair priorities, and quantitative report generation. Presented without marketing hype, the course is applicable to all infrared cameras regardless of make, model, or age.
Course attendee Matt Trevatt stated, “I would highly recommend this course for its clarification of common misconceptions.” John Britton, an experienced thermographer and course attendee was equally impressed and offered the following: “This is an excellent course for unraveling the world of thermography. It provides a logical progression through the requirements for accurate infrared temperature measurement.” Grant Jackson added, “This course was worth every penny. I recommend it thoroughly.”
Jim Seffrin, Director of Infraspection Institute, adds “We are very pleased to be working with IPI Infrared and to support their efforts to advance thermography as a science and a profession. We wish to congratulate all Level II graduates and we look forward to supporting your future thermographic endeavors.”
Mr. Ward concludes, “Our Level II training is a must for all professional thermographers wishing to unlock the true potential and value of their infrared cameras. We look forward to hosting future Level II courses and invite all thermographers to join us in achieving this important professional recognition.”
